ESRB details its Mature rating for Contra Rogue Corps

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has revealed its summary for the recently announced Contra Rogue Corps. The action game ended up with a Mature rating due to contents categorized as Blood and Gore, Strong Language as well as Violence. You can find the full ESRB description for the latest Contra video game below:

This is an action game in which players help members of an elite mercenary unit survive in an alien-infested city. From both a top-down and third-person perspective, players use machine guns, lasers, chainsaws, flame turrets, rocket launchers to kill mutated corpses and alien creatures in frenetic combat. Players can also perform finishing attacks ,which are depicted from a close-up perspective; finishing attacks often show creatures getting impaled, slashed apart, or blown up into pieces. Large blood-splatter effects occur when creatures are killed.

A handful of comic book-style sequences also depict instances of blood and gore: a man’s brain transplanted into an animal’s head; a creature torn to pieces by gunfire; a man ripped to shreds by a creature. The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “a*shole” are heard in the game.

Contra Rogue Corps is releasing on Sept. 24, 2019, in the U.S. region for the PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One. If you are interested, you can pre-order the physical version of the game for consoles with this link from Amazon.
