The Entertainment Software Rating Board has revealed its summary for Detective Pikachu. The adventure game ended up with a E (for Everyone) rating due to comic mischief and mild cartoon violence. You can find the full ESRB description for the Nintendo 3DS exclusive game below:
This is an adventure game in which players help a young man (Tim) and Pikachu search for a missing character. As players progress through the story, they interact with characters, investigate scenes for evidence, and deduce various mysteries. Some interactions lead to sequences in which players match timed button presses to perform various actions: diffusing a time bomb, attacking enemies with electricity, avoiding enemy attacks (e.g., In one sequence, Tim gets struck with a poison needle during a Fail scenario.). The game contains mild instances of comic mischief and innuendo: a character belching a purple cloud of gas; Pikachu leaning over and making a heaving sound; dialogue such as “Calm down, everyone. No need to fight over me…There’s plenty of me to go around…”
Detective Pikachu will be released for the Nintendo 3DS handheld on the 23rd of March in the North American region. If you are interested, you can preorder the adventure game with this link on Amazon.
