Peter Rosas, known by many in the fighting game community as ComboFiend, made a brief comparison between the Street Fighter V and Street Fighter Alpha 3 versions of Rainbow Mika.
In a live stream interview with Twitch at PAX Prime 2015, the community manager at the U.S. branch of Capcom first admitted that the female wrestler was considered to be a weak fighter in Alpha 3 as no one was really digging her. With that said, he personally saw some potential in R. Mika.
In the upcoming Street Fighter V, the development team decided to redesign the fighter. As a result, he promises that fans will consider Rainbow Mika to be a “serious contender” who has all the tools needed to beat the other characters in the game.
R. Mika is the latest fighter to be confirmed for the fifth mainline Street Fighter. The other characters confirmed so far are Birdie, Cammy, Chun Li, Ken, M. Bison, Nash, Necalli and Vega. In total, Capcom is planning a roster of 16 fighters for the launch of the videogame, with more becoming available via DLC (which can be earned in-game in addition to being available for purchase).
Street Fighter V should be hitting the PS4 and PC in the spring season of next year. If you are interested, you can preorder the collector’s edition via this link on Amazon.
