Matt Gorman has commented on the recently announced PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of XCOM 2. In a press release sent to us, the vice president of marketing for 2K first talked about the critical success of the PC version, adding that many consoler gamers have been asking for a port. Firaxis has successfully enhanced the XCOM franchise, as XCOM 2 has earned both massive critical and fan acclaim. Many console gamers have been vocal about bringing XCOM 2 to their platforms, and now they can look forward to joining the resistance this September.
Jake Solomon, creative director of XCOM 2, also chimed in by saying that the development team at Firaxis Games are “avid console players” and are excited to work with The Workshop on the PS4 and Xbox One ports. Find his statement below:
The incredible reception of XCOM 2 has been rewarding and humbling for the team, and we’ve known console fans have been clamoring to play the game too. As avid console players ourselves, we’re excited to work with The Workshop to bring XCOM 2 to all of our fans.
XCOM 2 will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 6th of September in the North American region.
