New patch updates have been released for the console versions of Shenmue I and II. On the PlayStation 4, the 1.02 patch takes up 202.5 MB is the first game as well as 1.924 GB in the second.
According to the patch notes, the update provide audio quality and user interface functionality improvements to the Shenmue I and II. Both games also got fixes for lighting, rendering and save data icon issues. The notes also mentioned “various bug fixes” as well.
Many fans, as well as newcomers, were disappointed with the ports of Shenmue I and II due to copious amounts of issues such as cut scenes not displaying correctly, background music not sounding the same as the originals, save data getting corrupt and a lot more. Hopefully, the new 1.02 patch updates will address some of these issues.

The long anticipated sequel in the series, Shenmue III, will be coming out for the PS4 and PC on August 27 in 2019.
