Are the Titanfall 2 Standard, Deluxe and Vanguard Collector’s Editions worth buying?

Titanfall 2 is one of the most anticipated releases of 2016. Electronic Arts will be offering three different options for gamers looking forward to purchasing the sci-fi first-person shooter. So are the Standard, Deluxe and Vanguard Collector’s Editions of Titanfall 2 worth purchasing? If you have a hard time deciding, you can check out our buying guide below.

Pricing

The Standard Edition of Titanfall 2 is the cheapest of the three, followed by the Deluxe Edition. The most expensive release of the game is the Vanguard Collector’s Edition. You can check out the price tags for the available options for the first-person shooter with the following links: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition and Vanguard Collector’s Edition.

About Titanfall 2

First, let’s talk a little bit about the game. The original is known for its fast-paced gameplay with it various mobility options and the ability to pilot a giant Titan mech.

The sequel further expanded on the first game by adding a single-player campaign where you control Jack Cooper as he explores The Frontier with BT-7274, a Vanguard-based Titan. Players can expect to tackle a variety of combat scenarios, including fighting against bosses.

The multiplayer in Titanfall 2 also comes with several new features. In terms of core gameplay, players can now use the grappling hook and slide for movement. There are also several abilities and boosters available such as Phase Shift and Smart Pistol. Furthermore, the online multiplayer comes with new Titans (Ion, Legion, Ronin, Northstar, Scorch and Tone), modes (Attrition and Bounty Hunt) in addition to character customization as well.

As you can see, the sequel looks to be both bigger and better when compared to the original release.

Post-Launch DLC

Another element to consider is the post-launch DLC support. Respawn Entertainment previously announced that Titanfall 2 will be getting free maps and modes. As a result, you don’t have to worry about getting any season pass for the software product.

Preorder Bonuses

Depending on which store you reserve the game at, all three versions also come with preorder bonuses. For example, Amazon is offering three days early access to Angle City, a remastered multiplayer map from the first game. Customers will also be getting the Nitro Scorch Pack, which adds Nitro Warpaint and Firebrand Nose Art customization options for the Scorch Titan in addition to the GOLD| Beast Mode callsign.

Standard Edition

The standard edition of Titanfall 2 simply contains the base game and nothing more. So this option is best suited for players who just want to play the first-person shooter for as cheap as a price at launch as possible.titanfall-2You can purchase the Titanfall 2 Standard Edition with this page.

Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition of Titanfall 2 comes with digital bonuses. On the first day of launch, this bundle will grant instant access to the Prime upgrades for the Ion and Scorch Titans. Customers will also be getting the exclusive Delux Edition Callsign, Deluxe Edition Camo, Excalibur Chrome Warpaints and Thunderbird Nose Arts. You can find the full list of the digital contents of the bundle with the list below:

  • Prime Titan customization for Scorch

  • Thunderbird Nose Arts for each Titan
  • Excalibur Chrome Warpaints for each Titan
  • Splinter Ocean Camo applicable to every Titan, Pilot and Weapon
  • Quantum Ocean Camo applicable to every Titan, Pilot and Weapon
  • Gold Caliburn Callsign

As you can see above, all the digital bonuses are cosmetics. Thus, none of the DLC has an effect on the gameplay of the first-person shooter.titanfall-2-deluxe-editionPurchase the Titanfall 2 Deluxe Edition here.

Vanguard Collector’s Edition

The Vanguard Collector’s Edition comes with the most content of three available options. This bundle includes the aforementioned Deluxe Edition of the game in addition to an 8 GB USB custom dog tag flash drive with an 18-inch metal ball chain. Also included is the Pilot SRS Field Journal, which measures at 3 inches by 4.5 inches while also having a pen, aluminum case and Vanguard Squad logo.

Customers will be getting some wearable items as well. The squad morale patches, which has a male Velcro-style hook for easy attachments, features Macallan’s Marauders and Ion. The impressive looking Vanguard Shemagh Scarf, designed based on the videogame franchise, measures at 42 inches by 42 inches.

Last but not least, the Vanguard Collector’s Edition also comes with the Titanfall 2 Vanguard Pilot Helmet Replica. This product is 1:1 full scale and comes with a battery operated blue light-up translucent faceplate, mounted spotlight and non-projected red LED light. Recap

The Standard Edition of the first-person shooter is for players who simply want to play the game. It is the cheapest option available, especially if you consider that all the DLC maps and modes in Titanfall 2 will be free for everyone.

The Deluxe Edition comes with first access and exclusive DLC content. However, all of the digital bonuses are for cosmetics only and won’t have any effect of the gameplay. So, unless you are into visual customizations, you are better off getting the two other options.

The Vanguard Collector’s Edition is for hardcore fans of the series. While it may cost the most, it has a lot of enticing extras.

Electronic Arts will be releasing the Standard, Deluxe and Vanguard Collector’s Editions of Titanfall 2 on the 28th of October in the North American region.
