Best racing seats, wheels and other add-ons to buy along with DriveClub to optimize your experience

DriveClub_E3_06_1402392329DriveClub is the last major release in 2014 for the PlayStation 4 in terms of exclusive software. While you are most likely going to get a lot of enjoyment from the videogame itself, you won’t be getting the optimal experience. Below is a list of complimentary products we recommend buying along with the racing game.

PlayStation Plus

DriveClub uses various social elements along with the traditional online multiplayer. For instances, you can have a faceoff against another player at anytime in a challenge while driving through the various tracks. For this to happen, however, you will need to be a member of PlayStation Plus, which is required to play online multiplayer on the PlayStation 4.

DriveClub was actually one of the first games announced for the PlayStation Plus. Members will be able to download a stripped down version of the videogame at no additional costs. While it does not have the same amount of tracks and cars as the full game, the PS Plus Edition do have the same gameplay modes and the ability to earn trophies. Better yet, you can upgrade to the full version at a cheaper price than buying the retail disc.

The PlayStation Plus also has other benefits outside of the racing game. The service gives away other free games on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on a monthly basis. So, even if you are not much of an online gamer, there is a lot of incentives to be a member. Purchase a PlayStation Plus subscription right now on Amazon.

Season Pass

Evolution Studios already announced an eight-month plan of DLC releases for DriveClub. Most of the cars and race tracks are free but there are some (along with the livery and tour packs) that require a fee. With the season pass, you do not have to worry about missing out on any post-launch content. Not to mention that you will be able to save 60% in cash with it instead of buying all of the packs separately. If you are planning to play the PlayStation 4 exclusive for a long time, then a season pass is essential. Buy it now on the Sony Entertainment Network Store.

Racing Wheel

You can play the racer on a regular DualShock 4 controller but the experience just wouldn’t be the same. Fortunately, Sony announced two compatible racing wheels for DriveClub: Thrustmaster T300 RS and Thrustmaster T80 DriveClub Edition. The T300 RS is the more expensive option out of the two although it also has more features such as force feedback and upgradeable firmware. Find photos of both below this paragraph.

The racing wheels can be purchased on Thrustmaster’s official shopping store – T300 RS and T80 DriveClub Edition (wheel also available on Amazon).

Thrustmaster VG TH8A Add-On Gearbox Shifter

If you want to further be immersed with driving around with the racing game, you may also want to pick up the VG TH8A Add-On Gearbox Shifter. The shifter is solidly built and offers a new layer of realism. Aside from the two wheels above, it is also compatible with racing wheels on the Xbox One and PC. Check out the add-on right now with this link.

Openwheeler Racing Seat

If you have more cash to spend, you should also invest in a racing seat to further immerse yourself with the realistic visuals of DriveClub. A dedicated seat should also provide better ergonomics, especially if you are playing with a wheel.

We recommend using the Openwheeler Racing Seats. There are two versions: the classic version with no mount for the shifter and the advanced version which does have a mount for the add-on. Find the two seats on Amazon – Openwheeler Classic Racing Seat Driving Simulator Gaming Chair and Openwheeler Advanced Racing Seat Driving Simulator Gaming Chair with Gear Shifter Mount.

DriveClub is available on the 7th of October as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
