PS4 box art revealed for Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition

The PlayStation 4 box art has been revealed, via a listing update from Amazon, for the upcoming Darksiders 2. Instead of being called Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition, it looks like Nordic Games decided to go with Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition. If you are interested, you can preorder the port with this link from the online retailer. Check out the box art for the remaster below this paragraph.Darksiders-2-Deathinitive-EditionDarksiders 2 was first released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on August 14, 2012 in North America. The sequel would later be ported to the Nintendo Wii U when the system launched on November 18, 2012. For the uninformed, the action-adventure series adds its own unique twists while combining elements from the God of War and Legend of Zelda franchises.

THQ previously own the rights to the Darksiders series. However, the publisher had to file for bankruptcy in 2013, selling the franchise’s rights to Nordic Games. Vigil Games, the studio behind both games, were also shut down in the process.

Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition is expected to come out later this year for the PlayStation 4 console. Hopefully, the remastered release could lead to the revival of the critically-acclaimed series in the near future.
