Patrick Fortier talks about controls and gameplay changes in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Dues-Ex-Mankind-Divided_2015_08_05_GC_screen_ONLINE_021In an interview with during Twitch’s live stream at Gamescom 2015, Patrick Fortier was asked about the gameplay changes in the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The game director responded by first saying that the development team worked on the feelings of using a controller for the RPG. He explained that, in Dues Ex: Human Revolution, Adam Jensen wasn’t really comfortable with his mechanically augmented body.

In the sequel, however, the main character embraced what he has become. The development team is trying to convey the changes of Adam to the controller by adding new functionalities in addition to altering the way in triggering augmentation, the targeting speed, being able to take cover. All of the aforementioned elements will be tighten together in order to make the experience fluid in Mankind Divided.

The upcoming game is current-gen only as it will only be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in addition to the PC platform. The story is set two years after the events that occurred in the previous installment, Human Revolution.
