John Vignocchi talks about the Kingdom Hearts power disc controversy in Disney Infinity 3.0 and more

In regards to the Keyblade, the idea came from a member of the development team who made the suggestion when talking about what the ultimate unlock will be for the 3.0 release.

John Vignocchi sent a handwritten not to Square Enix in order to get permission to use the Keybalde. Once he managed to get the weapon approved, the Vice President of Production for Disney Infinity also asked for a costume change disc, which Sqaure Enix was a little more hesitant about. Not to mention that he also need clearance from Disney’s corporate branding department as well in reagrds to making any changes to Mickey. Fortunately, he was able to get an approval for the costume.

In terms of the distribution of the Kingdom Hearts power disc, John Vignocchi initially thought that it was a great idea to give out the product as an exclusive gift to attendees of the D23 Expo. Afterwards, he was admitted that he was crushed by the negative reactions of fans who weren’t at the event. With that said, he also teased that his company has always made things right. So there may be something brewing for those who couldn’t get the rare power disc.
