The Magma Red DualShock 4 Wireless Controller was previously only available in Japan. It looks like the same product will finally be released in the United States region in the near future. However, the new color will only be available exclusively at GameStop.
As with the other color variations, the Magma Red color covers a majority of the front plate on the PlayStation 4 controller. Only the buttons (including the touchpad), ports and bottom tip remain Jet Black.
GameStop is listing a release date for the 30th of June. While this may indicate a placeholder, the date falls on a Tuesday, which is when a vast majority of new gaming releases are launched in North America. While GameStop secured the exclusive U.S. release for the product, you can also import the Magma Red DualShock 4 on Amazon with this page, if you want, as the accessory is region free.
Along with the Magma Red and original jet Black Colors, Sony has also released the Glacier White, Urban Camouflage and Wave Blue variations of the PS4 controller in the west. A Steel Grey version is also coming soon as part of the Batman Arkham Knight Bundle Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Bundle, which is being launched on the 23rd of June.
