Why the Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us Remastered Black Friday Bundle is worth buying

Facing heavy competition from Microsoft and their aggressive pricing of the Xbox One, Sony announced a rather enticing Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us Remastered Black Friday Bundle, which you can check out right now with this page on Amazon. So is the product worth seeking? We at Game Idealist certainly believe so. You can find our explanation as to why it is a must buy product below.

First let’s take a look at what actually is included in the product. Shoppers will get a regular Jet Black PlayStation 4 system with a 500 GB hard drive. So, don’t expect anything special in terms of hardware like the Glacier White system that came with the Destiny bundle. Instead, Sony decided to include two free games at no additional costs. One is a disc copy of Grand Theft Auto V while the other is a digital release for The Last of Us Remastered.

Two Highly Rated Games

The good news is that you will be getting two of the best games in recent times. The PlayStation 4 version of Grand Theft Auto V got a Metascore of 96 while The Last of Us Remastered is not too far behind at 95. The new Grand Theft Auto really pushed the boundaries of the open-world genre. Naughty Dog’s new I.P. also helped push the envelope of storytelling in videogames.

If you somehow held out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of GTA 5 in addition to the PS3 release of The Last of Us, buying the Black Friday bundle should be a no brainer.

Improved Graphics

Of course, you may have also played both original versions of the bundled games to death already. Even so, the PlayStation 4 releases do have better visuals that should make you want to replay them again. For The Last of Us Remastered, the game now runs at 1080p with 60 frames per second (or a locked 30 frames per second if you insist on having better shadows).

For Grand Theft Auto V, the resolution has been bumped up at 1080p while the game maintains a more stable 30 frames per second when compared to the PS3 version. Rockstar also changed the damage, weather and foliage (there’s even more grass in the PS4 release than the Xbox One iteration) for the current-gen release.

Playing the ultimate console editions on the PlayStation 4 is well worth it, especially if you had a problem with the graphics, frame rate or otherwise, before with the last-gen releases.

Extra Content

The two remasters also came with plenty of extra content. The Last of Us Remastered added commentary from the development team, a photo mode as well as the one campaign expansion (Left Behind) and two major multiplayer packs.

Rockstar also went above and beyond with the PlayStation 4 version of Grand Theft Auto V. First off, they increased amount of animals, cars and even the multiplayer player count (which is now up to 30) for the current-gen release. A first-person mode was also implemented, literally giving players a whole new perspective to play with.

Due to the above factors, the Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us Remastered Black Friday Bundle offers the best excuse to jump into the PlayStation 4 train. So make sure to score yourself one when shopping this holiday season.
