Best Amiibo to buy in the second wave of releases in terms of potential future uses

Nintendo is going to release a second wave of Amiibo figures in December. The new batch comes with Captain Falcon, Diddy Kong, Little Mac, Luigi, Pit and Zelda. So which of these are worth purchasing if you are planning to get the maximum value in terms of potential future uses? Take a look at our rankings below (for our list of the first wave of Amiibos, you can check it out with this link).

6. Little Mac Amiibo

Little Mac became an official member of the playable character roster in Super Smash Bros. with the releases of the 3DS and Wii U versions. Unfortunately, it looks like the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U may be the only game to take advantage of this Amiibo. The last game of the Punch-Out series came out in 2009 after a 15-year absence. So far, Nintendo has not even hinted at a potential new entry starring Little Mac. Therefore, you may not get much usage on his figure.

5. Captain Falcon Amiibo

Although Captain Falcon is the star of the F-Zero series, a lot of fans probably recognize him as one of the iconic fighters in Super Smash Bros. Of course, this is somewhat of a bad news for his Amiibo as Nintendo has not released a major F-Zero game since F-Zero GX for the Gamecube in 2003. However, a tribute track was added to Mario Kart 8 via DLC. So there may be a chance that we could see a revival at some point, which should make this cool-looking figure more useful.

4. Pit Amiibo

Although no new Kid Icarus game has been announced, Nintendo did recently released Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS. The franchise also has a heavy presence in the new Super Smash Bros. games. Therefore, it looks likely that we may get something related to Kid Icarus in the future. With that said, it is likely that we don’t get more than one game, which limits the amount of times we can utilize the Pit figurine.

3. Diddy Kong Amiibo

While the Donkey Kong franchise is not as popular as Mario and Zelda, the games still sell a sizable amount. Nintendo already released Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze earlier in the year; so it may take some time for the next game to come out on the Wii U. On the other hand, the developer could always patch in Amiibo support for the existing title. Either way, Diddy Kong should be among the figurines that should be used along with Donkey Kong.

2. Zelda Amiibo

Aside from the recently-released Hyrule Warriors, Princess Zelda hasn’t really been a playable character. With that said, Nintendo should be able to find some kind of use for her Amiibo in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda mainline release for the Wii U. Nintendo has also been cross pollinating different major franchises like adding Link to Mario Kart 8. So we could be seeing more of the princess aside from her usual appearances in the Legend of Zelda series.

1. Luigi Amiibo

Nintendo always like to release Mario games, which should bold well for the plumber’s brother, Luigi. Of course, the taller and lankier sibling became quite a big star this year with his Mario Kart 8 video going viral on the internet. His Amiibo will most likely be supported next year with releases like Mario Maker and Mario Party 10. Therefore, his figurine should be getting the most usage by far out of the second wave of releases.

If you haven’t already, make sure to order the Luigi Amiibo right now.

Of course, you can always buy them all, which not be a bad thing if you have the cash considering that Nintendo said that some figurines won’t be getting another shipment in the first wave of releases.
